“The deadly Russian heat wave of 2010 was due to a natural atmospheric phenomenon often associated with weather extremes” states a recently accepted publication in GRL and more importantly, it “could not be attributed to climate change..” Whatever that may mean to the Polaris crew going there and our exciting research plans? I don’t know.. All I know people ALWAYS ask me what the weather was like up there and that I ALWAYS answer bikini-weather! What will this year be like? If I had to believe the weatheronline prediction it will be 15 degrees (Celsius!) and rain for the first few days we’re there. Still, regardless of the weather, it will be awesome to see that beautiful place again! I am looking forward a lot. See you all in Moscow folks!
