Uh oh…looks like it’s going to be a hot couple of days

I’m sitting at the table in the common room before breakfast. Usually I’m up before the students but today there were several sitting glumly watching a kettle boil (apparently unaware of the old axiom). It was hot last night and the new students have yet to develop the door-closing discipline that keeps bugs out of their bed rooms. Thus, there were some itchy and tired kids this morning. But, they’ll wake up and get excited about the day I expect. The bad news is that it looks like it is going to be a very hot couple of days coming up – the forecast claims 34C in a few days (93F). Over the next few days, I’ll be longingly thinking back to 2009 when we had the occasional snow shower.

93F?? I didn’t know the tundra could reach that temp.; and with all that moisture around you, I hope you packed your scuba gear 🙂

Buildings designed to keep warm at -40 definitely do not stay cool at 30 above. The good news is, over time, the new students will develop immunity to the mosquito bites

Sounds just like home! You went a long way to get our weather! Wishing all of you well.
