Cherskiy Area

Cherskiy is home to the Northeast Science Station and our point of entry for the field course. The station is the base for the field course. It’s home to the Zimov and Davydov families who have been conducting year-round research there since the 1980s. The station is home to a sophisticated lab for biogeochemistry including several flux towers where the Polaris Project does the bulk of our scientific work.
