The main topic of our research is investigation of frozen sediments at the lower Kolyma area: its composition, genesis, physical properties and thermal state. We will do a lot of drilling, digging, sampling and a little bit of scientific research afterwards.
Permafrost group will stay in Chersky since July 9 to August 12 and have overlap with Core and Terrestrial satellite groups. Everybody who is interesting to get some experience of permafrost research or needs samples of frozen core is welcome to join us for some time.
