Duvannyi Yar

Duvannyi Yar is a site upriver from Cherskiy where massive permafrost thaw is underway revealing the Pleistocene landscape beneath.

Tundra and estuary

We make a trip north from the station in most years to sample the landscape outside of the boreal forest ecosystem.
